How to attain Self-Control of thought, speech & action?
Answer:
Before U think, speak, or act in a specific way, then evaluate:
Would this be detrimental to myself or others in any way,
now, later or much later?
If so: Don't think, speak or act so evermore!
If not: Please continue to think, speak or act so.
During thinking, speaking, or acting in a specific way, then also
evaluate:
Would this be detrimental to myself or others in any possible way,
now, later or much later? Correct accordingly if needed as above.
After thinking, speaking, or acting in a specific way, then also
evaluate:
Would this be detrimental to myself or others in any possible way,
now, later or much later? Correct accordingly if needed as above.
Before, during and after!
Buddha often
emphasized:
One should do what one teaches others to do; if one would train others,
one should be well controlled oneself. Difficult, indeed, is
self-control.
