Drop of Dhamma Delight!

Friends:

How to attain Self-Control of thought, speech & action?

Answer:

Before U think, speak, or act in any specific way, then evaluate:
Would this be detrimental to myself or others in any way, now, later, or much later?
If so: Don't think, speak, or act so evermore!
If not: Please continue to think, speak, or act so.

During thinking, speaking, or acting in any specific way, then furthermore evaluate:
Would this be detrimental to myself, or others in any possible way, now, later, or much later?
If so: Don't think, speak, or act so evermore!
If not: Please continue to think, speak, or act so.

After thinking, speaking, or acting in any specific way, then finally evaluate:
Would this be detrimental to myself, or others in any possible way, now, later, or much later?
If so: Don't think, speak, or act so evermore!
If not: Please continue to think, speak, or act so.

Takehome: Before, during, and after!

Buddha often emphasized:
One should do what one teaches others to do! If one shall train others,
one should be well controlled oneself. Difficult, indeed, is self-control..
